.....A GIVE-AWAY!!!!!
So in honor of my 200th post....I thought I'd share with you this recipe for Gooey-Butter Cake. It's a recipe from our family cookbook I blogged about awhile back.
Gooey Butter Cake
1 stick BUTTER, room temp.
1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 (8 oz pkg) cream cheese
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 pound box powdered sugar
Combine butter and cake mix and blend like pie dough. Add 2 eggs and mix well. Spread into a greased 9" x 13" pan. Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar. Lightly beat the remaining 2 eggs and add them to the cheese mixture along with the vanilla. Pour over the dough in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 min.1 stick BUTTER, room temp.
1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 (8 oz pkg) cream cheese
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 pound box powdered sugar
***Cindy note: Cream the cream cheese in the mixer, scraping sides of bowl and getting it really creamy before adding the sugar....continue to scrape the sides of the mixing bowl and the beater as you go and after adding the eggs....making it a very smooth batter. I really think this makes a difference of how it turns out! Once it's out of the oven, I sprinkle with a little additional powdered sugar. Enjoy!***
So now you are probably wondering about the give-away part, eh?
Well, in order to be entered into the give-away all you need to do is leave a comment to this post (or those that may follow) telling us what your favorite cake is and/or become a follower. I don't think of 'gooey butter cake' as my favorite but if I'm going to choose cake over pie, it has to be a gooey cake, if ya know what I mean!
The prize? Hmm....I'll keep that part secret! Mainly because I'm still gathering items for it! Since this 200th post is about baking, I will tell you that the prize will be kitchen related...just a simple little somethin', somethin'!
Leave your comment and/or become a follower between this post and Wednesday, June 29th and I will announce the winner on Thursday, June 30th!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

I'm a follower Cindy! And I've never had gooey butter cake, although anything with the words "gooey" and "butter" in the same sentence and I'm pretty much sold. :) I think my favorite cake is a really deep, dark chocolate - with chocolate frosting, of course! Ooh, or wait, maybe carrot cake with buttercream. Or lemon cake with LEMON buttercream ...
Wow, why'd you have to make me choose a favorite? :) LOL
Wow, the gooey butter cake sounds yummy!!! I am a chocolate cake lover!!
I am a follower and lover of your blog! Thanks for the contest for your 200th post.

Hi Cindy
Congratulations on 200 posts!
I think your blog was one of the first I started to follow when I began blogging in 2008 - I won my first ever giveaway from you - a lovely one-block quiltlet that usually sits under my fruit bowl on my kitchen bench. Who knew then the incredible world blogging would open up to me! I don't comment often now... too many blogs and too little time - and blogger plays up too. But every now and then it's good to stop for a "chat" - lol.
The recipe sounds interesting - a kind of cheesecake? I make a cheesecake that uses a chocolate cake mix as a base, then the cheesecake layer, then it's baked and then a sour cream topping... it's my favourite but it's deadly rich and calorie intense - so it's only made for special family occasions where it can be shared!
Hope the next few weeks go well for Liz. It's no fun being pregnant in summer, although there is nothing so special as knowing your little one will be 'home' soon. Is she having a girl? I saw those pink fabrics you've been working with...
Take care and all the best to you and yours
Shari
I am a follower and my favorite cake is Black Forest Cake. I made it once for my birthday in Highschool while taking German. I love it.
