What I've been working on...

And as usual, I run out of the background color just mere stitches away from being done. This design is from Notforgotten Farms American Folk....I'm thinking I need to make this same design into a pennyrug, too.
The cross stitch is a little freebie chart by Blackbird Designs but I had to change it up a bit to fit the board that I put it on, which is a fur stretcher.
Besides that I've been working on some needle books, pin cushions and cutting apart some old jeans to make some more cute little denim aprons. And there are other things....always start more than what I can work on at a time!
Had a beautiful day here today....77°....tomorrow is to be warm as well but also chance of showers....I'm sure we could use it but it would be nice to get out for a walk! Even though we've had a few days here and there that we've gotten to sneak in a short walk, Rylee and I have been missing our daily walks! We are really looking forward to spring and warmer temperatures!

Spring Open House...

Are you suffering from cabin fever? Well you won't want to miss the spring open house at Randolph Mercantile.....here's a sneak peek and info for the open house the first weekend of March.
I'll share some of what I've been working on for this  in the next day or two.....as usual I plan for more than what I actually will have time for.
Time to get busy...chasing after baby girl and stitching....hmm...I wonder which one I'll get more done of today?

Well I finally got with the program and got more things listed in my 'For Sale' album on facebook.....and there's more to come.

Clearing out...

...yet again! Including pieces from some of my collections. I simply do not have the space for so much of it. So...I've gradually been snapping pics and listing them in a "FOR SALE" album on my facebook page. I've started with some of my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks and a few others. I will have little finds that I thought I would use in projects yet haven't and if I've had them for 5+ years and haven't used them yet, chances are I won't ever. It will take me some time so if interested just keep checking back....there might something you need or simply want!

.....in January! Now....simple frame or unique finish? a finish for the sampler wall of my sewing room or offer for sale? *sigh*

Flour Sack Towels...

WOW! While I love my homespun and terry cloth towels my most favorite kitchen towel is the ol' flour sack towel. And while doing some holiday baking, I found more reasons why this towel will always have a place in my kitchen.
For some time now I've been making my own pie crust. Needing to make a couple of pies for a friend I was thinking back and remembering the difficulty I had rolling and transferring the crust the last time I made pies. Ugh! I thought there had to be something to make it easier and I don't know why it took me so long to think of this.....
I have a couple of flour sack towels that I use specifically for food....to cover dough while rising, cover foods just out of oven, etc...So...I thought "Hmmm.....I wonder....." now need I say more?
That had to be the easiest of crusts to roll and transfer....yes I still used flour on the cloth and rolling pin ( which the rolling pin my son got me a couple Christmases ago is another of my favorite things)
So a couple days after the pies I needed to make sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls....yes the ol' flour sack towel came through again.... Oh the simple things in life that make our day to day tasks easier!
